help!!! my printer can't be detected!!

my computer can't detect my printer hp deskjet 840C even
though i'd plugged in and switched on. At the system
configuration utility, i chose normal startup option and
restarted my computer. but the problem persists. i
discovered that at the services option, print spooler has
stopped running although i had checked it. what can i do
now?? it's really frustrating cause i really need to use
the printer!! please help!

net start spooler

and hit enter

Have you tried going to the HP website and downloading

drivers for that particular printer. there may be
updates that you need.
