im currently a trainee at a computer shop and a customer
has requested a program!i havent even heard of being able
to do it but he insists you can do it, the program allows
you to dial a number from your computer to a mobile or a
home number!and he can talk through a mic and they can
talk to each other like they were both on a phone, but
one is talking through the internet or something and the
other is talking through a phone. can anyone please help
me on what program can do that!and if it is downloadable
where i can get it from! thanks in advance!

Did you try searching google for the software? Use terms like "VOIP",
microphone.

VOIP stands for "voice over IP." It requires more than just software on your
PC. This technique is available as a service for a fixed monthly fee from a
service provider. They provide the link from your Internet connection to the
other party's phone.

If you want to talk to a specific person where both of you are not using
telephones, then I suspect that there is some software available. It would
be like a chat room package; only instead of typing messages back and force
you use your microphones. However, you can only talk to a person who agrees
to link with you. You don't get the telephone style where you can call
anybody you want.

Search for "Voice over Internet Protocol" or "VoIP".
