Help! Internal Error 2932

Kevin Lahey

Hello,

A Co-worker installed XPe and then tried to install another program
using the Microsoft Installer. He got an error "Internal Error 2932
C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{7148F0A8-6813-11D6-A77B-00B0D0142040}\10.33.MST,
1307". I then installed XP Professional on the hardware and got the
same error. I have no problems using the installer on our other
machines, but this one has a micro drive (Magicstor 2.2 GB CF+ Type
II) instead of a regular hard drive. It is slower and smaller, but
other than that I haven't noticed any difference between
it and a regular hard drive. Our other machines have the same version
of XP, 2.4 GHZ processor, over 500 MB ram - all the same, but it is
only with the mirco drive that this error happens. XP installs fine,
but using the installer to add something (in this case the 1.4.2_04
java jre from Sun and also a text editor) gives the error. It is just
a simple can't create file error message, but I am Administrator and
we have enough disk space.

I found a couple of references to the 2932 error problem in this
group: they thought the problem occurs with media marked "removable"
and the problem went away with flash cards marked "non-removable", but
I don't have anyway to change this card. We aren't going to switch to
XPe until I can figure this out so if anyone can help me I would be
very greatful.

Kevin
