Pop out a cd, put in a new one. W2k thinks nothing has
happend, it wont refresh no matter what you do. I found
that if I eject and insert a few times it finally shows
the contents. I can also go to properties on the cd
drive, and toggle the check box "Enable digital CD audio
for this CD-ROM device", hit ok, but say NO to the reboot
computer dialog, and it refreshes the drive. (I figure
because a setting has been changed on the driver, when
you hit ok, it tells windows to do a refresh, which means
you'll then see what's on the cd you put in the drive.)
I know it's not my drive because I took the 2 yr old
drive out and put in a new DVD+R burner and it does the
exact same thing! sigh. I can even burn a data cd, it
auto ejects, I pop it back in, and w2k shows the files
from the PREVIOUS cd! Bummer.

Help!! Please!

I have the same problem except I'm running XP. I have a
Dell Latitude (laptop) so I went to the Dell site and
found a bios update that fixes this issue. Don't know
what kind of computer you have, but maybe the fix could
be the same. Just thought I'd tell you that, I'm sure it
wasn't what you were looking for but maybe it will help.
