when my screen first loads up and I have to click on to enter my password by
my user name (in order to log on) it states below it that I have 72 messages
email.... how do i get rid of this as i don't want it on my windows xp start
screen

please help

The easiest way is to download and install Microsoft's TweakUI Powertoy.

Link : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Once installed, click logon followed by unread Mail, finally untick ' show
unread mail on the welcome screen'.
