Headphones problem

I have just managed to set up my computer so that it does not enable digital
cd playback. Now, I can listen to CD's with headphones in my Windows Media
Player, but not anything else. I would like to know how I can set up my
computer so that I can hear regular audio, such as sounds in games, with my
headphones. I have conncted them to the jack in the CD-ROM drive, but nothing
works; the sounds still come from my speakers. If anyone can help, I would
greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

There should be a jac in your speakers to do what you want. I'm not sure,
but try that out.

That's the problem...my speakers have nothing of the sort. There is only a
jack in my CD-ROM drive.

There should be a jack on the back of the PC (soundcard) for your
headphones. When playing games on the Internet, the CD-Rom will
not transmit any sounds, only thru the PC's soundcard.
