Have a pop up window

Hello, I am using PPT 2003 I have a presentation were I would like to have a
text window pop up and then disappear at my own will, I know I can do this
with custom animations, but I want to have it as an option and not always
run. I also tried inserting it as an object and dsiplaying icon, but I cant
seem to open the text file when I am in slide show mode. Does anyone have
any other sugestions on how to have a text window (or a picture of the text)
being an option to appear when I want it to on a slide and disappear when i
want it too?
Thanks

I am a "newbie" but have you tried trigger effects.
Not absolutely sure but I think I was shown this earlier this year.

Set the Text box to disappear when it is clicked on. In other words,
apply an exit animation to the rectangle and set its trigger to be itself.
An arrow (unseen 'til hovered over with mouse) will disappear an
reappear on mouse click. If I am wrong someone very clever on here
will point you in the right direction.
