hardware wizard can't see

i plugged in my usb portable 256m drive but Win2000 does
not see it. How can i reset my hardware wizard to see new
plug and play hardware. P.S. My hardware works
beautiful on my other pc running Win XP.
 
Plug the USB drive into the USB port. Use Control
Panel/Add/Remove Hardware to install it the first time.
You may need to download the W2K driver from the USB drive
manufacturer's web site. One you have intstalled it
through the CP, the system should recognize it each time
you plug it in or remove it. This happened to me with a
NetGear modem card. milt
