USB Card Reader Won't Install

I am running Windows XP and purchased a multi-media card reader. When I plug
it in and the new hardware wizard runs, it says "Cannot Install this
Hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware: USB Reader. An error
occurred during the installation of this device. The data is invalid."

The company insists it is plug and play. Does anyone have a solution?

question elsewhere.

That said, it sounds like this company has no interest in helping you. I'd
return the product.
