Hardware Malfunction

My hardware configuration is:

Pentium-3 processor (733MHz)
Kingston 128MB RAM (PC 133)
GFXcel motherboard.

I was using windows 2000 professional on my computer. It
was
working quite OK. But after 2 or 3 weeks it started
giving the
following error on the Blue Screen.
--Hardware Malfunction
Contact your system vendor.
This doesn't happen when the computer is in the process
of booting.
It may happen at any time when I am working on my PC
(even when
I am not doing something on the PC and the system is
idle).

I decided to upgrade to Windows XP. Even that has not
solved the
problem.
I don't really understand what's the problem. Some of my
friends
say that the RAM is not fixed properly in the motherboard
slot.
And some say, it's the motherboard problem. And GFXcel is
not
a good motherboard and advise me to change my motherboard.
Please tell me what to do and why there is so much
"Hardware Malfunction".

Since you have wiped out the original operating system
and tried to install XP, it's going to be very hard to
figure out what is going wrong.

When you see the blue screen, their should be some numbers
that say what the error is, get the exact wording of the
error and all of the details.

it could be anything, the easy way is to take it to your
local computer repair shop and have them diagnose it.
