I lost all mouse and keyboard functionality in Windows 2000 Server.
They work in the BIOS and under MSDOS but as soon as GUI kicks in, nothing.
I tried Safe Mode and I get the same problem.
Remote connection to it is fine so that saves me for now but I need to get
this fixed. Latest Service Pack did not help.
Any suggestions?
Which Registry keys would I need to delete in order to reinitialize the
mouse and keyboard?

Corrupt PS/2 input device driver....

try re-installing the i4082prt driver

Any idea how to do that?
Do I just replace the i8042prt.sys file?

Thank you,

Steve

Since you can TS into the system without any problems.. I am guessing it has
to do with the "current user" key in the registry.

From the device manager, Uninstall the keyboard (this uses the mentioned
driver) and then let it scan for PnP devices and reinstall and register the
device properly).

HTH,

Did you change BIOS settings, like USB legacy support?
