Harddrive constantly flashing

My harddrive is constantly flashing. I was told because
of "XP page indexing" but couldn't find the answer. It
interefers with the DVD burning process.
 
that means the drive is reading/writing. find out what's
causing then, and see if you can stop it.

if by xp page indexing, you mean the indexing service in
ntfs, that's easily eliminated. you can turn off indexing
by right-clicking the drive in my computer, or you can
disable the indexing service in services.msc.
