I am using winxp MCE. Whenever I have recorded a programm during the night I
like the computer to go automatically in the Hibernate or standby state.

But I have a problem. Whatever I try I can not shut off the harddisk(s)..
The are still on during the following morning.

Pls. Help.

Thanx

Check your settings by right clicking your desktop, and click on properties.
Then click on the screen saver tab, then click on Power button in the Monitor
power window.
Under the Power schemes tab you can see here what you want your computer to
do under time.
However i would not reccomend putting your computer into hibernate mode, nor
shut down power to hard disks. I have seen more computers not waking up and
freezing w/ these settings. And one time i witnessed the computer never
turning back on.

Has this function ever worked before? If not, then pls check the
documentation of your mainboard+hard drive (evtly other relevant pieces of
hardware), whether they are ACPI capable.
