Hanging after opening page

E

Eoin

My Internet explorer has started hanging for about 15-30
seconds when it's finished loading a page, it comes
up "done" in the status bar then just freezes. You can't
click on any links or do anything till it comes back.
It's VERY annoying!!!!

Anyone have any clue what it could be?

I'm on Windows XP - I've run Spyware and Norton Anti
Virus and neither have resolved the hanging problem. It
happened within the last few days.

I have been having the same problem. After running Ad-
Aware 6.0 the problem was resolved.

I have the same problem. It started just a couple of days
ago. I'm wondering if it had anything to do with a Windows
Update I ran on Thursday. I checked the CPU usage when it
was hanging and it didn't appear that any other
application was choking it.
The web page loads but then hangs for a good 20- 30
seconds before the any links become active. It happens on
every page I jump to.

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.
If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
