Screen Hanging

I have Windows 98SE and Internet Explorer 6. Just recently I have frequently
experienced Internet Explorer hanging when a link is chosen. The page looks
as though it is loading and the bar indicating this moves across almost to
its finish position, but the screen then hangs.
Sometimes it is possible to do Ctrl/Alt/Delete and 'End Task' the item 'Not
Responding'. Other times nothing at all will happen and I have to turn the
computer off.
Everything else on the computer works fine including Outlook Express.
Please help!!!

In WinXP SP2: You can fix Winsock by going to Start | Run and typing
CMD

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other

This is happening to me as well. I can go online and after a few minutes it
freezes up. I sometimes can get Ctr, Alt, Delete to work but the majority of
the time I have to turn computer off and then scan disc for errors pops up
when turned back on. I have Windows ME though with IE6. I thought it was
related to MCAfee having updated my account this month as adding some
updates. Will this work on Windows ME? Thanks for your help.
