IE 6 Hangs for Several Minutes

IE 6 is hanging for an unusual amount, and never loads the page when I open
it. I believe I am running on SP 3, but I am unable to click 'About' on the
Help menu. I recently put my pc back to factory settings and everything on
the machine was running much better. I then tried to install some of the
software that had been removed (Turbo Tax 2004), and seemed to have some
difficulties with the install. IE 6 started hanging after that install. I
then restored to a point prior to the install of Turbo Tax, but IE 6 still
hangs.

My questions is, what can be done about this, if anything? I am guessing I
might need to uninstall/reinstall IE 6, then download the appropriate updates
for IE 6. Any thoughts, insights, suggestions or solutions on this would be
greatly appreciated.

Backup your personal data, then do a format & clean install of Windows.
Please note that another Repair Install (AKA in-place upgrade) will NOT fix
this!

After the clean install, you'll have the equivalent of a "new computer" so

the machine to the internet or a network and before using a USB key that
