Guide Plus+ can't connect???

Hello all,

I've got AIW 9600PRO, WinXP PRO, 1GB RAM,etc using Cat 3.10 and MMC
8.8

recently my Gemstar Guide Plus + has stopped working properly, after
listings have expired it asked me to download new ones and it just
won't do it.
When you start it up gives you an error msg, something like failed to
connect to the server, check you net connection ...., however my net
is dsl and IS working fine.
I've uninstalled and re-installed it few times, and still won't
connect.,
I thought it's my firewall, Kerio, but not, even if I shut it down
totaly, still won't connect.

I've send mail to ATI support, however no reply for 3rd day now...
Help , it was nice to check out TV listings on the computer.......

I have the exact same problem, so it's definately not specific to your
setup. I've also sent ATI mail, with no response.

Is anyone else about to connect with any other type of card? or is
everyone having the same issue? I get the impression that Gemstar is
dead and not coming back, which renders the bundled Gemstar
application useless. And what are the alternatives to Gemstar with an
ATI card?

this was an issue a few months back for me. I believe the ATI FAQ
addressed it.
I forget final fix.

btw, have you tried changing your zip/postal code and downloading again?

I have the AIW 9000 Pro with the Gemstar application.
The Gemstar is a nice enough application but there is much room for
improvement
for both usablity and performance. Does ATI support Gemstar or as you imply
is
this product obsolete and not being supported or improved upon?

It is not an ATI product, they have no control over it, they just include a
copy with their products.

I've got the 9600 AIW with WinXP, and had a similar problem, but I got an error
saying something about not being able to update the listings

I resolved it by removing Guide+, and then reinstalling.
