gemstar guide plus

Howdy,

I recently got an ATI all in wonder 9600 pro. It came with Gemstar
guide plus. Initially, it worked fine and was fun to use as a
recording device. However, after I updated the schedule one day, the
whole thing went to crap. It gave me an incorrect list of channels
and misassigned others, which I have determined are all the ones
available via attenna, even though I have cable selected in the
options. No matter how hard I try to convince it.

So I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it, which Really screwed
things up. I can't seem to completely get rid of it. And now, when I
try and 'remove' it, it sort of just blinks and tells me its finished
(which it is not).

Any advice. I'd like for it to work again.

Thanks

1) Re-install it
2) Select the "GUIDE PLUS+(TM) System Update Wizard" option from the
"start" menu. It won't do anything other than do a "reset" of
everything when it checks and says there's no update.
3) Launch it and when it asks to update your listings, say "NO".
4) Select "File", "Download Weekly File"
5) Click on "Change Settings" and "Let me choose channel line-up
again". Make sure it's selected "Cable"
6) Click "Save Settings"
7) Click "Download"

If that doesn't "fix" it, you might just have to do some experimenting
with the channel line-ups in zip codes close to yours.

My channel listing screwed up about a week ago as well.
I just tried a few neighbouring zip codes till I got the correct (or close
enough) lineup.
