ATI AIW Guide Plus Cursor Disappear

M

MooMoo

I am using ATI AIW 9200Pro (All in Wonder 9200Pro). When I used
Gemstar Guide Plus, my cursor disappeared after 5 seconds.

I have been using this crap for about 6 months. It gave me various
problems but nothing as annoying as this one.

The last thing I remember was updating to MMC 9 and updating to Remote
Wonder 2.301. After that my cursor started to disappear. I have since
removed MMC 9 and Remote wonder, and reversed back to MMC 8.9 and my
old remote wonder driver. The problem persisted.

Anyone else has the same problem? Asolution?

I have checked their web site (http://www.vgi.com/), they got the most
useless web site in the world. This is the stupidest program I have
ever seen. I'm going to curse their programmers using my voodoo
doll.....

I found this page which sounds like it discusses your problem

Give it a shot.

Thanks, but no relief for me. Same problem as original poster. The
ATI knowledge base fix (basically resizing the TV screen and setting
hide controls to no) didn't do a thing. Submitted a support request,
but am not holding my breath.

FWIW,

I uninstalled MMC 8.9 (using the ATI catalyst uninstaller utility),
reinstalled all the drivers and installed MMC 9.0, Guide Plus and
Remote Wonder II and the disappearing cursor problem is fixed.

Don't know if it's the upgraded MMC (I believe the video drivers are
the same as previous) or just reinstalling everything that did it, but
it's working - for now, at least.
