When I try to go to google.com I get redirected to other
sites. Same thing happens with Yahoo. I heard of a fix
for this, something about a toolbar getting inbedded in
IE, however I can't find out how to fix. Can anyone help
me?

Check your system for "hijackware":

Dealing with Hijackware
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm#tshoot
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm

You *must* seek updates for Ad-Aware, Spybot, etc., before each and every
use, even "right out of the box". But even then, they can't catch
everything. When all else fails, HijackThis
(http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
your files to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.

Hi,
i am having the same problem where my browsers all
redirect me from google to other sites like www.yeah.com
or www.www.google.com.com. although this doesn't happen
when i use my aol browser. have you had any luck with
fixing this problem?

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Usually these addwares/spywares are implemented as BHOs which willload with
every IE instance.
There are some products like BHOCop , BHODaemon which shows you the BHOs
that are installed in your system , yo can also disable them. Search for the
above products in Google , you'll get direct links.

Anil
