My hard drive is partitioned with two operating systems,
windows 2000 and windows XP. Both are pro editions and
the one windows 2000 I do not use anymore and would like
to get rid of. I am also running out of room on the 2nd
partion and need the room. Can I take the partition out
and still have the one operating system and not loose any
of the inforation on it. I would like to take windows
2000 off of the PC and just run windows XP and make it
one hard drive again. Windows 2000 is on the first
partition C and windows XP is on the second partition G
if any of that matteres. Need help big time.

Thanks Gordon

This gives you guidelines to remove NT$ from a dual-boot config with Win2K.

http://www.winnetmag.com/Windows/Article/ArticleID/22477/22477.html

You will need to read this and substitute 2K for NT4, of course too
substitute XP where 2K appears.

Of course you may have to be very careful if you started with 2K and all the
applications are in C:\Program Files and if you use documents stored on the
C: Drive.

Do not format the C Drive, you will need to delete any unwanted folders +
files and then do a defrag.

This should clear up the space and tidy your boot up.
