Getting printer back on line

Upgraded to XP Pro have most of my problems solved but I can not get
def printer back on line. I have
Uninstalled and re installed still shows off line
I have disk

Need more details about printer?

1) How is it connected to the PC? Parallel, USB or networked (shared or IP??)

2) Make and model of printer.

3) Did you install / re-install the motherboard chipset drivers, after the
upgrade?

4) Did you check to see of the cable is still good and connected between the
PC/printer?

No idea what these are or how to do it

Yes I checked all that out
