Getting PowerPoint 2000 into Office 2003

I own Office 2000 Professional which has PowerPoint. However when I
purchased Office 2003 for Windows XP I got the Home Edition which doesn't
have PowerPoint. I need my PowerPoint program briefly in order to view a
tutorial. Is there a way to install just my PowerPoint without overlaying my
Office 2003? Also, will it work on Windows XP?

Actually, you probably bought Standard - Home doesn't mean anything in
Office, just in Windows.

Yes, you should be able to install just PowerPoint from your old Office 2k
media; do a custom install and select only PowerPoint.

NB: if this is a different computer, you can do this only if you have a
retail copy of Office 2000 and not an OEM one bundled with your old
computer. That one is linked forever to the old hardware.
Also, will it work on
Windows XP?

Yes. But Office 2000 stuff is old and I don't believe it's supported any
longer.....if you really need full PPT functionality I'd spring for a
standalone PPT2003. Or you can get the free PPT viewer from MS (won't let
you edit, but you can view).

You can install the entire suite if you wanted, but they can not be in the
exact same directory path. If you don't want to bother with installing for now
just to view a tut, download and use the viewer:

Download viewers and converters for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and
Project from the Microsoft Office downloads web site

You don't need to do that, and there's a much simpler solution. Just
download and install the free Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer at

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...27-43ab-4f24-90b7-a94784af71a4&displaylang=en

or http://tinyurl.com/3nend

That will permit you to view the tutorial, but not create or change and PP
presentations.
