Windows 2000 server with Win 2000 pro clients

If I change clients to Win XP will the Active Directory features like
publish and assign software still work?

Are there any reasons why not to update the clients to WinXP?

Yes - they will
Are there any reasons why not to update the clients to WinXP?

Possibly. (although this is a huge question - consider application and
hardware compatibility in the first instance)

Thanks for this but assuming that application and hardware compatibility is
not an issue . . .

Is it better to have Win 2k Pro clients or Win XP Pro clients on a Win 2000
Server network?

With Windows XP clients you are getting the most stable, secure and higher
performance clients.
If you have a choice and app compat is not an issue then there is no reason
to go Windows 2000, you will want to go Windows XP - especially with the
forth coming Service Pack 2 features.
Your use of Windows 2000 Server does not impact this decision.
