General internet/image issues

I am having serious problems with internet connectivity, which occur whether
I use IE or Firefox. I am constantly losing my connectivity, having general
problems of slowness, and problems loading images. I knew there were some
internet-related problems with Vista, but also knew I would pretty much have
to go to a Mac to avoid them. I expected that as with any new product, there
would be some problems and they would be worked out with updates, etc, but I
have seen zero improvement. I have changed all my security settings with no
effect. Can anyone advise me about what is going on here?

Further, I'd like to add that I find it reprehensible that there is
absolutely no technical support with this product. If I had known there
wasn't even to be an initial free period of tech support from Microsoft, I
would have gone for a used pc rather than deal with this, but now, I have
spent $650 on something I can't even use half the time.

Did you check the Problem Reports and Solutions applet in Control Panel >
View Problem History and check for any problems relating to IE log (bucket
ID) that you could probably copy and paste back here so someone could
probably better diagnose the problem?

The people who built the machine and installed Vista (OEM) are responsible
for providing free support during the warrantee period.

What have you installed since you received the machine?

How do you connect to the Internet?
