Games run only on backup drive

I have two games, Star Wars Battlefront and Republic Commando that crash
("program must quit") when installed to my WindowsXP Pro boot drive, but when
installed to a second (non boot) drive on the computer run perfectly. Has
anyone an idea why this happens?

Thanks.

Not enough free space for temporary files? Or the free space is too
fragmented? OR you could ask the people who make the game what is wrong
with their program!

Well, of course they should fix it, but a dozen or so users have the same
complaint on the company's forums, and no one seemed to have an answer.

I figured maybe someone in the WinXP forums might have a new
perspective. Btw, there are 50GB free on the "boot" drive.
Anyhow, thanks for the reply.

That it happily runs on the same operating system, but only if its the
second drive indicates that the program is "making" some bad assumptions
about the system. If you remove the second drive, I would wager that it
will happily install and run on your boot drive.

Thanks, Bob I. That's thinking outside the box, as it were. I'll
have to try it and see what happens.

You're welcome, do what I can, with what I have.
