Further Problems with Vista

I keep receiving error messages saying "Windows-Aero has failed" and that
"the use of optimal Windows Vista products may be hampered because I may be
the victim of counterfeit software". Which isn't true, I bought my HP G6050
EG laptop directly from Karstadt (a department store here in Germany) only 2
weeks ago with OEM Vista Home Premium, and haven't changed anything (outside
of downloading ICQ and AIM - for which I always get a "damaged data" message
on start-up) or allowed anyone to touch it outside of myself.

Due to this, I can't even access any Windows Apps like Control Panel or
Windows Updates. Which is very problematic because I can't use my printer
and I'm currently writing my Master's Thesis and I really need to use my
printer (which is an Epson D92 - and certified for Windows Vista).

I checked the Forum today and saw the two previous postings on possible
counterfeits and "WGA Fails.." and followed the link provided
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/931573). The problem
description included on that site is more or less exactly what is happening
on my laptop. However, after downloading and running the software, I get a
message that says it is not right for my system.

What do I do now? I don't even think that the department store where I
bought the laptop will even bother to do anything about my laptop (this may
be a question for any German bloggers on this forum).

Of course the store should take it back! Which you should do
immediately. If the store gives you a hard time, call HP.

Did you activate it?

Is there a little set of keys down by the clock?

If so, then you may need to do the part
about the telephone activation.

There are also two of the fixes you can download.

One of them is 64 bit. You probably have a 32 bit system.
Right click on my computer and select properties to
make certain.
