frozen- cannot go into safe mode b/c of norton GoBack

this will be confusing...its my friends computer...wasnt working well, he
tried to install Norton GoBack and would not completely install....now cannot
shut down, must press power button...cannot start in safe mode because comp
detects norton go back and say he must uninstall it....comp starts up, goes
to desktop with message: "go back is not enabled- would you like to enable
now?" mouse is frozen and cannot choose anything, but can use enter and tab
on the keyboard....F keys dont work....so must press wither yes or no to
enable go back....picking either does not help: trying to install and enable
it freezes mid app and picking no does nothing....all in all, i must
uninstall norton go back, but i cant because the mouse is frozen.....will try
to reboot with win xp installation disc, but think it wont work because
cannot get 'go back' uninstalled.....ugh, does this make sense??

Should have never installed GoBack if his system wasn't working well. It is
like making a restore point with corrupted files.

Have you tried "Last Known Good Configuration"

i believe last known good configuration is F10...the actual words dont show
up when i restart, but I read it is F10.....nevertheless, i also get the same
message about uninstalling goback...its like any choice there is to press
during start up, it reverts to this corrupted go back.....what i need to do
is somehow get go back off...does it would like i have to 'bring it in' to a
specialist?

record.....risky, but it worked....starts up and the mouse works

Hi there,
I am encountering the same problem with Ngoback. I can either start XP in
safemode or hit spacebar to Ngoback options because the keyboard is locked
up., and the comp keeps restarting. I tried "unhook Ngoback.iso" but still
could not go anywhere because the keyboard is locked at that screen. How do
I fix this? Thank you guys.

Short answer : uninstall Norton .
Long answer : and install one of the many free systems which are not
bloatware . I use the ERUNT system which is a lot easier .
