french vs english deployment

I have a friend who's company has provided him with a top
end laptop that has French Windows XP installed. He has a
usb 2.0 external hard drive and a full English windows XP
CD to install the English version. He wants to use the
English version and install it on his External Hard drive
and boot and run it from there. Any ideas on how to do
this?

Actually, he has the full English install, if the bios
allows booting from a usb drive, it will work and if the
drive were a regular 3.5 inch ide drive in a usb box, I
could install the English Windows XP version on my
desktop, then install the drive back in the usb enclosure
and let windows see the new enviroment on his laptop. I
hadn't thought of partition magic. Thanks..........
