freezing computer

Hi, I am getting so frustrated with my computer. It is freezing for no
apparent reason, I thought it might be from over heatng but it is not because
now it happens on even on start up. It has been going on for about 8-10
months it happens about 2-3 days than it is fine for a couple of months. I
can be typing right along and then it freezes or I move my leg and the laptop
freezes. When it does freeze there is a yellowish hue to the screen. Any help
is appreciated. I havent downloaded anything recently so that isn't it.

Try control-panel,administrative tools, open event viewer & see what the pcs
problem is......Also,open an event/warning,click on the url in it,this
opens help/
support in xp usually with a fix to it...

So......we all just "open event viewer & see what the PC's problem is"?
..... Just like MAGIC? What friggin' planet are you living on?!?!? Are
you talking about Microshaft Windows XP Event Viewer?!?!? In FIVE YEARS
of working with my clients' 400+ WinXP computers, I can't remember a
single time that friggin' worthless Event Viewer has ever helped me
diagnose a system with an intermittent freezing problem. In fact, if
anything, it's led me in the wrong direction more often than not....
What do you think, the system freezes, the CPU stops, then Event Viewer
miraculously opens up and logs the piece of hardware or software that
just caused the freeze? WTF? Have you ever actually worked on a real
live computer? Or ever had Event Viewer, or Microshaft for that matter,
help solve a real life hardware problem? GIVE ME A BREAK!

Hello, Microshaft? My system is freez-It's a hardware problem - don't
call us!

Hey Beth, you'd be very smart to take your computer to someone who
actually fixes computers for a living - and I don't mean a Best Buy Geek
or any of the other large chain store technical departments. They're in
the repair business to milk you for every penny you have and to keep
your computer for as long as they can - because they think they can.
Where else would you take a sick computer these days? Well, I'll tell
you - you take it to your local independent computer repair shop/person.
You'll most likely get it completely repaired for the same cost that a
Geek would charge just to diagnose the problem. I get 80% of my 'side
business' from "frustrated" people who have lost their computers for
weeks to the Geeks and still have the original problem that cost $$$$ to
have fixed. Take your computer to someone who actually cares about
his/her reputation and works with a customers' computer as if it were
his/her own, someone who wants your business again and will treat you
fairly.

Good Luck,
Jack

PS - Please post the results of your dilemma, whatever happens.
