Freezing and Blue Screen

Windows Vista Home Premium

After starting windows it freezes (can still move mouse but screen is
unresponsive) or blue screens (Something like: An error has occured and
Windows is shutting down to prevent further damage) anywhere from 10seconds
into starting to 30 minutes.
I reinstalled Windows and still have the same problem.

Hi,
I reinstalled Windows and still have the same problem.

A big clue. Either some of the software you reinstalled afterwards is
problematic, or you have a hardware failure. Due to the timing you mention,
I guess you have an overheating issue and the system shuts down to prevent
damage to affected components. The solution here would be to check fans for
proper operation, that vents are clear, and make sure there is amply air
flow around the system.

Hi Angel,

My first thoughts would be as Rick says. However, by stating that your
computer works when in safe mode, this indicates to me that it is a driver
problem. In safe mode, all 3rd party drivers are disabled and the system runs
using the drivers as supplied on the Vista installation disk. Common drivers
that can cause problems are sound, graphics and chipset drivers. What are
your system specifications (sound, graphics and chipset)? What are the driver
versions that you are currently using for them? If any of them are BETA
drivers, then this might explain your problem. What are the dates of the
drivers? The more details that you can supply, the better chance there is of
someone being able to help you.
