My computer shut down in the middle of windows one day. Upon reboot, the computer froze on the blue windows welcome screen. I tried restarting and using last known good configuration, same problem. When trying to boot in safe mode, it does the same thing. I cannot get anywhere past the blue windows welcome screen that shows before the user profile screen. Any ideas? There were no recent programs installed. The last thing installed was the most recent windows update for windows media player. I would use system restore if i could get into safe mode. I was going to backup all of my documents and reinstall windows, so ive installed a second version of windows on the same partition, but i cannot access my other user profiles using windows explorer, it just says access denied. Any ideas how i can get into the version that is freezing?
