FP2003 times out when I try to publish

When I try to publish I get an error:

The server "" timed out. The current request did not complete successfully.

My site is at www.aaltenvoogd.com

I can publish individual files without any problem. My connection is fine.
Checked with my web host and they say everything's fine. Frontpage Server
Extensions installed.

I'm not publishing many files, only one or two with small changes to the
text, so a bit puzzled why it times out. Could it be because of the number of
files I have in my site? 4200 files in total, of which the main ones are the
680 in the top-level directory.

Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Many thanks for your help in advance,

Stefan

Do you have FP set to publish changes only?

Also, have you tried selecting one or two files when in folder view and then right
clicking and selecting "Publish selected files?

Also you might want to try this:
Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with
Expression Web Designer and SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

See if it helps.

Yes, I normally have FP set to publish changed pages only. When I try to
publish it says "listing pages" and after a while times out.

Oddly enough, when I tried it earlier by changing the publish settings to
publish all pages it seemed to go through ok - it took an hour to seemingly
transfer all the files from local to remote, and then I received the same
error. I can't make out whether this is a server error or a problem with FP.

When I talk to my web host they say "talk to your ISP" - but I don't think
it's my ISP's problem as I can do everything else just fine over my excellent
and stable connection.

If anyone can help/point me in the right direction I would be really grateful!
