Forwarded Email from AOL received as attachments in Outlook

I'm fairly new to using Outlook (2002). I do not have an AOL account.
When I receive mail forwarded from AOL addresses, the messages are
received as attachments, rather than in the body of the email. If it has
been forwarded multiple times, I have to click on the attachments
multiple times. Also, to delete the email, I have to click on that
multiple times if I'm "in the attachment".

When I look at the same mail with Netscape 7.1 or Outlook Express, the
email messages are in the body of the email--so much easier!

Is there anything that I can do about this? Most of those forwarded
messages are usually pretty silly, trivial or sappy and not worth this
much effort to read.

Thanks

It's a known issue with AOL forwarded email. To delete, close open the
messages and delete the main one it came on. if you want to the keep the
last opened, drag it from the next to the last message to a folder in your
inbox, then delete the original.

Personally, I've never had anything worth the effort in a nested forward
from AOL and just delete them unread.

Thanks, Diane. Now I know that it's not a setting that I've missed in my
many attempts. I have been deleting them unread as they are usually
quite trivial and silly

Yes, encourage Microsoft to update Outlook to handle MIME enclosures
intelligently.

Yes - "FW: FW: FW: FW: World's Best Lawyer Jokes" and all that.
