Cannot open a forwarded email as an attachment

I am using Outlook 2007 and have another emailer who is on AOL who forwards
emails and when they appear in my inbox they are attachments. I used to be
able to open each forwarded email until I got to the original email but now
it will not allow me to open even the first attachment. I have to right click
and save it to my desktop and use notepad to read it. Any thoughts?
