Font Problems

Hi all,

I have been writing an essay for university. My problem is that everytime I
merge other parts of the file the document changes the font. An example of
this is when I insert a cover page in a different font an tabs on the ruler
the rest of the document changes to that font. This is driving me mad, I have
tried adding page and section breaks but it still occurs. Any help gratefully
recieved.
