Font Problem in Internet Browser

I had a font problem when I use IE 6. The fonts keep varying in size and
the images also aren't shown properly. I loaded another Internet
Browsing Software Avant Browser and the problem exists there too. I do
not have this problem in other MS office softwares on my PC. I run Win
XP Pro SP2 on an P IV system.

Here's a bunch of fun stuff...

1) You're posting from a forum, this is Usenet. (More on this in #2)

Access MS Newsgroups:
http://kgiii.info/windows/all/general/msnewsgroups.html

2) This is an OS group and while someone in here might help you - chances
are good that you'll get a better answer in an IE group. Using the above
link you can take yourself there pretty easily. Really - this is your best
choice.

3) Consider IE7 but that's likely not your problem. See #4 and #5...

4) Your font issues - I'd wonder if you had reset font size... Close all but
one instance and then set the font to normal under view > text size.

5) The images aren't shown properly? How aren't they shown properly? Are
they fuzzy? Are they mis-shapen? If so then see #6...

6) You may have a stylesheet loading... Open IE, click tools, options,
accessibility: settings, is there a stylesheet being loaded?

7) Loading Avant won't do you much good I don't think? I'm not 100% certain
on this. I think that's the browser that actually uses the IE engine which
means, basically, that if you use it you're still using Internet Explorer -
you're just using a shell or a skin file (simplified) for it that makes it
appear to be a different browser but, really, it's still IE under it.

8) If you want to test an alternate browser then http://www.opera.com is a
nice one that's free. You can take that for a spin if you would like - it
will let you know if the problem is IE specific.

9) Depending on what your image issues are it may be that you're using
compression software. So, for instance, you might load Opera and find out
that it works fine and that'd be because it had altered proxy settings
perhaps. If you're using something like an 'accelerated' connection (such as
AOL or Netzero or the likes) then those are likely compressing your images
as well.

Finally, friends don't let friends use forums that leech posts. Instead of
using PCBANTER you can head here and access the server properly and have
bother greater control and quite a few newsgroups available that likely
aren't also located on the forum that's leeching posts, it's not your
fault - you probably didn't know but head here:

Access MS Newsgroups:
http://kgiii.info/windows/all/general/msnewsgroups.html

Either way, best of luck and I hope the above works for you - if it doesn't
or it doesn't give you enough information then you would likely be better
assisted by asking in an IE group where there are people more adept than I.
