For some reason my folders want keep the view that I set for them.In
other words, When I set a folder for "Details view" the next time I open
it it will be set to "Tiles" or "Icons". Anyone got an idea on how to
fix this?

Once you've set the view you wanted, did you ever go to Tools/Folder
options, click the "View" tab at the top and then click "Apply to All
Folders"?

That works for me everytime.

Hope that helps.

Also, once you've done that, it will retain all details view in all folders,
but also allows you to change the odd folder, say, My Docs or My Pictures to
a different view, e.g. 'Icons' without it affecting the Details view on
other folders.
(Occasionally it does hiccup later on somewhere down the track & changes
some back, but it's no big deal to run through this process again)

Hi Bill,

Open a folder. Click Tools, Folder Options, View and click "Reset All
Folders". (This resets all the folder view settings). Close the folder.
Open and customize the folder again. Click View, Apply to All Folders.

If that does not help, read here:

Your view settings or customizations for a folder are lost or incorrect:
