Fixing Windows Defender Beta 2(Update)

In XP My Computer>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.
Go to Windows Defender, and highlight it.
Select 'Change'
When the panel comes up Select Update Windows Defender.
Once that has been carried out, it will ask you if you wish to check for
updates and do a quick scan.
Click OK.
This procedure worked for me.

I tried this, but it still told me that it was unalbe to complete the update.

Same here I maintain our internal WSUS server and strive to keep our systems
up to date for security reasons at most. So far i'm just testing the Windows
Defender on 2 computers and just cannot seem to get an update on them. Anyone
tried re-updateing BITS yet?

Our systems group informed me that there is a new version of SUS available
that will solve this issue. They plan on installing it in a few days..
