filters and rules now creating duplicate messages did not b4 updt

A

alljs

I originally set up my inbox to receive all mail from several IDs with rules
to move the messages to separate folders that I had set up, by criteria and
after being read. The point was to have all unread mail together in inbox
folder and then sorted to proper file after being read. After the last
upgrade on outlook 2007, this stopped working properly so I created a view
for 'unread'. The problem now is that on items that I have specific rules
for, outlook creates duplicate messages in the view for unread messages.
When I delete 1 the other remains so its not just a ghost copy. I have tried
all different things to stop this but am tired of lost time with no results.
any suggestions?

Chances are that your rules moving messages do not contain the "stop
processing more rules" action. Neglecting this can lead to duplicate
messages, one in the target folder and one still in the Inbox.

Make sure your rules end in "Stop Processing" actions so they don't
accidentally create more than one message

The rules all have 'stop processing' on them. They are applied to a view of
inbox, and even when I select 'run now' the dups do not get deleted. It does
not happen on all messages is the weird thing, just certain ones, and I
cannot see what is different about the rule that continues to create these
dups. The view is set to unread messages in this folder (inbox).

Please post the EXACT text of a rule that exhibits the problem and an example
of a message that winds up duplicated, changing only the text of private
information like mail addresses and phone numbers.
