File Won't Delete

Win XP Home SP3

I have an AVI file which I cannot delete.
It has a Divx 5 codec.

When I try to delete the message says another program is using it,
I double check with Task Manager that no player or editor is running,
and none are.

I re-boot and try to delete. Same error message.

Any help appreciated.

Please ignore. I have figured out a way.
(After hours of trying, and finally posting here for help!)

I renamed the file WITHOUT an extension.
I was then able to delete.

If you have already posted a reply I thank you for your feedback.
