File Validation Problem - Zonealarm & XP

I'm having a strange and persistent problem with Zonealarm's (the free one)
file validation on XP pro SP2 (On startup, ZA checks some of its files to be
sure they haven't been tampered with.) On cold boots, I get a "validation
failed for programs.zap" (programs.zap is a ZA file) message. On a restart,
there is no message and ZA loads OK. Things I've done: Numerous virus scans
with Norton and 3 different online scans (all negative). Completely removed
and did a clean install of ZA. Imported new root certificates. Turned off
all other non-essential startup items using msconfig. Still get the error on
a cold boot, but not on a restart.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You might want to post to one of the Zone Alarm forums.

thanks. I have searched there and also talked with Zone Alarm tech support.
I have implemented all the fixes they suggested, and I still have the
problem.
