File that tracks downloaded e-mails

I use Outlook 2003 as my POP3 client. I currently have it configured to save
my messages on the server for 7 days before deleting.

I want to use the same .PST file on my other PC (physically copied from one
PC to another), but don't want to have the e-mails that have already been
downloaded on PC1 on PC2.

Is there some sort of file that tracks which e-mails have already been
downloaded? I performed a Google search and discovered that Outlook Express
uses a .DBX file that tracks this. Just wandering if Outlook 2003 uses the
same sort of technology.

Outlook does not keep that information in a file, but in the Windows
Registry. Hence, there is no way to accomplish what you want, other than to
move the messages out of the server's mailbox so the second Outlook can't
find them.
