File saved on desktop I cannot delete! Help!

I inadvertatnly downloaded a Java Binary file and saved it to my Desktop. It
is only 237 kb and posses no security threat. I tried to delete the file by
right clicking, dragging to the recycle bin, and using add and remove
programs in the control panel. I always get the delete error saying that the
program cannot be accessed. Anybody have any suggestions on how to delete
this from my desktop?

Boot into safe mode - delete it there.
