Emptying the recycle bin

Hello All,

I had previously downloaded RC1 for Windows 7 and not having used it, I
deleted it from my desktop where I had stored the file. I can not delete it
or empty it from the recycle bin. The message that pops up when trying to
delete it either manually or with Window Washer is : "... Can not
delete......it is being used by another person or program...." It is not
being used by another person or another program.

Any ideas on how to delete/empty the bin??

Thank you.

John John,

I am unable to start in safe mode. I select it, hit enter and it "loops"
around to the same menu where I can select safe mode again and again. Sort
of like an infinte do loop.

I think that there might be other things at work here. These kind of
things are often symptoms of malware or virus infections.

Get Handle here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896655.aspx and see if
you can find out what has a handle on the Recycler folder. Put Handle
in your System32 folder and then at a Command Prompt issue:

handle c:\recycler

If you have more than one drive the handle may be on the recycler folder
on another drive. You can also get handle information with Process
Explorer:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

Hello PA Bear,

I just downloaded it to a folder on my desktop. I did not install it. But,
I am trying to remember if I used Infarecorder to make an iso image. I'll
check tomorrow when I get home.

Thanks for the input. Every little bit helps.

John John,

Thank you for the links. I have Process Explorer, but didn't see anything
out of the ordinary. I'll look again with a finer comb when I get home
tomorrow.

I didn't know about "Handle." I will also download and try it as well.

I will post with the results.
