Can't empty recycle bin

C

Cyborg

Hi,

I can't seem to delete 5 folders that sit in my recycle bin, they all say
their size is 0 KB's. If any other files are deleted and added to the
recycle bin then I can delete them.

If I try to empty the recycle bin I get the error:

"Cannot remove folder <name>:cannot find specified file. Make sure you
specify the correct path and file name"

Any ideas?

Try booting into Safe Mode & empty the recycle bin from there.
Once it's emptied, it should be reset & work OK.

Can you restore the folders to their original location? If so, hold down
the shift key when deleting them and this will bypass the recycle bin. If
no go on that, see if this article helps:

To repair the Recycle Bin:

1. Open the Run box and enter: cmd

2. In the command window, type:
rd /s c:\recycled
Press <ENTER>

3. Resart your computer.

This worked thanks. Although I had one on the C drive and my F drive, the F
drive one worked.
