Fickle Mouse

Here's an interesting issue.

I have a ps2 mouse and upon every other boot up, the
mouse will not function at the start of Windows XP. I
built a computer recently. It happens exactly every
other time. I am wondering why windows is not loading
the drivers each time I start the computer. For some
reason it's been alternating. Any ideas? Any clue?

Have you got any other mouse drivers set to load that are conflicting?
Go into the control panel and look under Mouse.
Also look in device manager, select the Show Hidden devices option and look
around. If you see another mouse there, then remove it.

A lot of weirdness can happen if an El Cheapo mouse is installed with all
its widget software and its buggy. Look on your program menu for mention of
any older mice that you may have had installed and look to see if there is a
deinstall option. Also check Add / Remove programs in the control panel. If
necessary delete all mouse references and start again.
