Faxing through cable modem

Is there anyway to setup the ability to fax from my PC using my cable modem?
I have XP Pro. When I setup the Fax Printer, it's looking for a standard
modem.

You can send your fax to a fax service together with with addressee
information. They will send the fax for you on a fee for service basis.

To send it yourself, you need an analogue fax/modem in your computer plugged
into a phone line.

Cable uses digital signal.
