fax software problem

I have recently installed new av software(macafee internet security 7,
upgraded from ver6). when i send faxes with microsoft fax the fax monitor
does not appear and the fax console does not update unless i close the
console then re-open it. I have also noticed that about 90% of the time when
I shut down the pc the sqlserv.exe program does not close and has to be
closed manually. i think the 2 problems are related does any body have any
idea on this.

Only that AV software has been disabling the Fax monitor for years. I've
