While trying to find a solution for our outbound faxes on microsofts site, i
stumbled upon something called the Fax Server...does anyone know how it
works? Can i use it just like i would use win fax pro to send out going
faxes in xp? and if it does work like that...how do i set it up...and does
it work in a terminal services environment?

thanks for that link...it was only helpful in that it told me that the fax
server thing will not work for what i need (the following sentence did that)

"This means that if you are currently receiving your faxes using a standard
fax machine, you will need to discontinue using the fax machine to RECEIVE
faxes, and set up a “Fax Server†for this purpose. You can still use the fax
machine for OUTGOING faxes, but incoming faxes must be received using a Fax
Server."

what we have right now is an internet fax that recieves our faxes, and uses
ftp to send them into our document management software instead of printing
them off. so recieving is not an issue. sending is, because we are trying
to go paperless. i have a copy of winfax pro that i can install the host on
my 2000 server machine, and then install the client on all of my xp
workstations, and it will work, but then all of users will not be able to
look at the host and see if thier faxes went out simply because i am not
willing to grant them access to my server. this is why i am looking for
other solutions.
